Varanasi, July 26 -- As the nation marks the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas today, Kargil war veteran Subedar Dhanesh Yadav recounted the early days of the 1999 war, highlighting the courage and sacrifices made by Indian soldiers.

Speaking to ANI, Kargil warrior Subedar Dhanesh Yadav, who was serving in 137 CETF BN (TA) 39 Gorkha Rifles, highlighted how the soldiers were deployed overnight to the Turtuk sector. He recalled that two Indian fighter jets had crashed two days prior to their deployment, which led to further escalation.
