Lucknow, Feb. 19 -- Amid the row over Mamata Banerjee's 'Mrityu Kumbh" remarks, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad claimed that many deaths took place in Maha Kumbh, referring to the January 29 stampede. He also stated that the party respects every religion.
On West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's statement, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad told reporters, "These are her (Mamata Banerjee's) views but many deaths have also occurred in Maha Kumbh... the whole country is demanding an account of this..."
He further said, "If the Samajwadi Party was anti-Sanatan or anti-Hindu, then Awadhesh Prasad would not have won the election from the Faizabad seat of Ayodhya district. We have faith and belief in all religions."
