New Delhi, Oct. 25 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday condemned the incident of two Australian women cricketers allegedly "approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist" in Indore and said there is need to ensure security of women.

In a post on X, Chaturvedi said the incident was "disgraceful" and "shameful".

"Disgraceful. We boast about economic growth, but, we continue to fail providing safe spaces for women. What a shameful act," the Shiv Sena (UBT) MP said in a post on X.

The Australian team is currently in Indore for the ongoing Women's World Cup. On Thursday morning, two Australian women's cricketers left their team hotel and headed to a cafe.
