Guwahati, March 17 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday expressed gratitude for Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent three-day visit to the state, during which he inaugurated a new state police training academy and discussed the implementation of three new criminal laws.

CM Sarma highlighted the significance of these reforms, emphasising their role in strengthening the criminal justice system while ensuring the protection of marginalized communities. He also acknowledged Shah's dedication to the state, particularly his engagement with the Bodo community.
