Kolkata, June 28 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday stepped up pressure on the ruling Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the alleged gangrape of a female student at South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata on June 25 evening.
BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul demanded the resignation of the TMC supremo hours after the Kolata police arrested the guard of the College where the alleged incident took place.
On the fourth arrest in the Kolkata alleged gangrape case, Paul told ANI, "...It is high time now...Mamata Banerjee should resign. We want security for women..."
The BJP MLA also expressed dissatisfaction over the handling of the case and alleged negligence by the college's authorities.
