New Delhi, Aug. 13 -- Union Minister Giriraj Singh rejected Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's criticism of the Election Commission and said that while the Modi government's last 11 years have been about "hope and aspirations", the previous UPA government's 10 years were "only about controversies".

Singh also accused Gandhi of misleading people by not submitting an affidavit.

"He is not giving an affidavit and deceiving people... The last 11 years of the Modi government were about hopes and aspirations. While UPA's 10 years were only about controversies... You could have at least submitted 65,000 objects against 65 lakh voters..." Singh told reporters on Tuesday.
