Hyderabad, June 28 -- Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha on Saturday expressed grief over the alleged gangrape case of a law student in West Bengal capital, calling for a strong punishment for the accused in the case.

Speaking to ANI, Kavitha asserted that the nation needs to take strict measures now as the crimes against women are not stopping.

"It is unfortunate that such crimes against women are not stopping. We need to take strict measures now... When KCR was in power, teams were formed to control eve-teasing and counsel the teasers. Such measures at minor levels are necessary to stop major crimes. The accused who have been arrested in this case should be punished as soon as possible to send a message to the whole nation..."...
