New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- Union Minister Ramdas Athawale announced that the Republic Party of India (Athawale) will hold protests across Maharashtra a day after the statue of BR Ambedkar was allegedly vandalised in Punjab's Amritsar. However, he did not announce the specific date of the protests.

He also condemned the alleged incident taking place on Republic Day and called for a "thorough investigation" into the incident, stating, "Who was behind this, whose planning was this should be probed."
