New Delhi, Dec. 2 -- Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Tuesday urged the Centre to hold a detailed discussion in Parliament on the alleged misuse of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) mechanism, asserting that the system encourages "vote-splitting" and should be stopped.

Speaking to ANI, Aujla said, "We are raising the issue of SIR in the House, and the government should discuss it. SIR should be stopped because this system of vote-splitting is absolutely wrong."

As the joint opposition used the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls issue to stage protests outside Parliament on Tuesday, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, MP Mallikarjun Kharge, said, "We will continue to protest to save democracy and against injustice."...
