New Delhi, June 30 -- The recent alleged gang rape of a law student within her college premises in Kolkata has reignited public outrage over women's safety in educational institutions, drawing sharp political reactions. Amid mounting criticism from the public, a probe committee set up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is being questioned by Congress MP Imran Masood, calling the move unnecessary and emphasising that the case is "not a matter of politics".

Masood emphasised that the matter should be left to law enforcement authorities, insisting that justice must be delivered swiftly and without political interference.
