Noida, Jan. 30 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Pankaj Singh welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to stay the implementation of the University Grants Commission's (UGC) Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions Regulations, 2026, calling it a "welcoming decision."

"This was a burning issue, and the Supreme Court has stayed UGC's Equity Regulations, keeping in view the sentiments of millions of people. This is a welcoming decision...," the BJP MLA said.
