New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday condemned the incident where a lawyer attempted to hurl a shoe at Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai, terming it a "disrespect to the Constitution of India."
"This amounts to disrespecting the Constitution of India...I condemn this incident. The lawyers who threw an object should be booked under the Atrocity Act," Athawale told ANI.
Lawyer Rakesh Kishore, who attempted to hurl a shoe at the CJI, invited criticism from several political leaders.
Earlier today, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara condemned the incident, calling it an "insult" to the office and the Constitution.
