Haveri, April 6 -- BJP MP and former chief minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai said on Sunday that the new Waqf law will provide justice to poor Muslims and ensure proper transparency and accountability.

Speaking to ANI, Bommai stressed that the Waqf properties would also be protected by the law.

"Poor Muslims of this country have been suffering for the last 75 years. Now, justice will be given to them, and there will be proper transparency and accountability, and the rule of law will be applicable. Waqf properties will also be protected with this," the BJP MP said.
