Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 16 -- Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Sunday said that terrorism has been a persistent problem in India for over 30 years, and it must be dealt firmly and effectively.
Tharoor stated that the first and utmost priority is to ensure the safety of the country's people.
Reacting to Jammu and Kashmir National Conference's chief Farooq Abdullah's statement, Tharoor said, "Investigation is in process right now. It is not right for us to speculate on the outcome of the investigation. Terrorism, unfortunately, is a phenomenon that has been with us for more than 30 years now. In some ways, it began with Kashmir in 1989-1990. From there, it has got steadily worse; it has spread to Bombay, to Pune, to Delhi."
