Lucknow, Aug. 27 -- Expelled Samajwadi Party MLA Pooja Pal on Wednesday lambasted the party and accused its women leaders of making derogatory comments about her personal life to "increase their numbers" in front of the party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

The expelled SP MLA said that the criticism only reflected their "lack of self-respect" and questioned their understanding of women's dignity. She also added that her family background had never allowed her to engage in such politics.
