New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- Communist Party of India (CPI) MP P Sandosh Kumar on Monday called the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar a "huge menace to democracy". He said that the Opposition will intensify the protests against it.

Sandosh Kumar said that he had moved a Suspension of Business notice under Rule 267 in the Rajya Sabha regarding the SIR exercise.

"We have given notice under Rule 267 against SIR. SIR has become a huge menace to democracy. More than 65 lakh voters are excluded from the electoral lists published by the EC on 1st August. Our apprehension about SIR has been proven quite right. We will intensify our protests," he told ANI.
