Kolkata, Jan. 9 -- West Bengal Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari on Friday said that the "signs were not good" as the police control room at Gangasagar in West Bengal was caught on fire ahead of the 'Gangasagar Mela'.

In a post on X, he said, "The police control room at Ganga Sagar has been reduced to ashes in a fire. The signs, however, are not good."

On Thursday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the Centre of neglecting the Gangasagar Mela, alleging that no financial assistance has been provided despite repeated demands and that the iconic pilgrimage has not been accorded the status of a National Fair.
