Chennai, Dec. 29 -- BJP Spokesperson CR Kesavan on Monday took a dig at Congress after All India Professionals' Congress (AIPC) chairman Praveen Chakravarty flagged rising debt under the DMK-led coalition government in Tamil Nadu, which the Congress itself is a part of.
Chakravarty claimed that Tamil Nadu has the highest outstanding debt among all states, and that the state's interest burden is the third-highest after Punjab and Haryana. This criticism of the recent debt trend in Tamil Nadu came despite the Congress being an ally of the DMK in the state, and the two parties are set to contest the 2026 Assembly elections together.
