New Delhi, July 30 -- Union Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday said that earlier governments lacked the political will to respond to terrorism, with top officials choosing not to act against Pakistan.

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during a special discussion on Operation Sindoor, Nadda said, "...It is on record that the senior-most officials of the government, whether it was the Foreign Secretary or the National Security Advisor (NSA), decided not to retaliate against Pakistan. Not to hit back at Pakistan. That is why I say, it was the same police, same army but there was no political will of the leadership then."
