Madurai, June 1 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin on Sunday said that the people are well aware of the "circumstances" under which the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) came to power and "rescued" the state from the crisis left behind by the previous AIADMK-BJP alliance government.

Speaking at the DMK's General Council meeting held in Madurai, Stalin launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Union government, accusing it of "trying to financially strangle" Tamil Nadu by "withholding the rightful share of funds" due to the state.
