New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was granted 30-day parole on Tuesday.

Speaking to ANI, Ram Rahim's Advocate Jitendra Khurana said that Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh parole is his legal right, and therefore should not be linked to politics.

"The 30-day parole has been granted to him today as per the law. Every prisoner has the legal right to apply for parole. This should not be connected to any political events or elections. While applying for parole, a prisoner can specify where they wish to go. This time, he applied to visit the Dera Sacha Sauda ashram, and he was granted permission accordingly.
