New Delhi, Jan. 26 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday questioned the Aam Admi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government following an alleged attack on the statue of BR Ambedkar in Amritsar.

The BJP leader condemned the incident and raised concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation prevailing in the border state.

He further said that the incident took place outside Kotwali police station, Amritsar at a time when the country was celebrating its 76th Republic Day.

"Today on the pious occasion of Republic Day, BR Ambedkar's statue and the Constitution of India were insulted outside Police Station Kotwali, Amritsar, in broad daylight," he claimed in a video message.
