Bengaluru, April 21 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that police is actively investigating the murder case of former DGP Om Prakash.

"Right now, the police is investigating. What connection do I have with that? This incident shouldn't have happened," CM Siddaramaiah told the reporters.

The former DGP was cremated with full state honours in Bengaluru on Monday.

On Sunday, former DGP and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Om Prakash was found dead at his residence in the HSR Layout, a residential locality in Bengaluru.

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara termed the incident "unfortunate" and stated that an investigation is underway.
