Patna, May 2 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday welcomed the Centre's decision to conduct a caste census.

"Along with the next census, caste census will also be conducted...Prime Minister Modi understands public sentiment and makes decisions only after understanding it...Prime Minister Modi does not just do politics on issues, but also takes care of people's feelings...Today, every child of Bihar is with Prime Minister Modi and NDA," he said.

Meanwhile, the Opposition said the timing of the Centre's decision might be linked to the upcoming Bihar elections.
