Bengaluru, May 28 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday said that the state government is planning to set up a separate corporation for ex-servicemen.

Speaking at the Jai Hind Sabha event organised by the Congress party to honour the armed forces, he said, "We are contemplating setting up a separate corporation as per the advice of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. We are committed to protecting our servicemen who protect our nation."

"I would like to thank all the servicemen for their contribution to the security of the nation. This event is a testimony that Congress party remembers and recognises our soldiers contribution," he said.
