Lucknow, Nov. 26 -- Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday remembered Dr BR Ambedkar for his role in drafting the Constitution on the occasion of Constitution Day.

Constitution Day is observed annually on 26 November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution in 1949.

Speaking to ANI, Maurya said, "On the occasion of Constitution Day, I pay my respects to the architect of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Ji. Had there been no Constitution by Baba Saheb, the oppressed and deprived people of the country would not have gotten opportunities to move forward. We have gathered here on this occasion for the Constitution Day program."
