Hyderabad, Feb. 12 -- Bharatiya Janata Party leader N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday slammed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his recent summon by an Uttar Pradesh court for his alleged 'defamatory' remark on the Indian Army, stating that it was "not new" for Lok Sabha LoP.

The Lok Sabha LoP has been summoned by a Lucknow Court on March 24 in connection with the case.

The matter pertains to the remarks of Rahul Gandhi, wherein he said that the Chinese troops are "beating up" the Indian Army personnel at the border. This remark had drawn widespread and sharp criticism from several BJP leaders who accused him of "demoralising the army".
