New Delhi, March 25 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, is an attempt to take the fight against disasters from a reactive approach to a proactive one and also beyond to an innovative and participatory approach.
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the discussion, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation said that through this amendment bill, the Narendra Modi government intends to connect the Centre, State governments, Panchayat and all our citizens with the cause of disaster management, and there is no question of centralisation of power.
