Kolkata, June 28 -- Bharatiya Janata Party leader Locket Chatterjee, on Saturday, criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee over the alleged gangrape case in Kolkata, stating that law and order in the state has deteriorated significantly.

Speaking to ANI, Chatterjee said, "It is a matter of shame. The RG Kar incident happened in August last year. Today, another incident similar to the RG Kar incident has occurred. If you ask Mamata Banerjee, she will say that this is a very small incident. There is no safety for women in West Bengal under the TMC government... Don't do politics on this..."

She blamed the Trinamool Congress government for doing politics in such sensitive cases rather than taking steps to ensure women's safety....
