Kanpur, Nov. 30 -- Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Sunday praised the Election Commission of India for conducting Special Intensive Revision throughout the country, adding that the names of several infiltrators who were staying illegally in Bihar were removed from the voter list.

Speaking to reporters, Pathak said, "The Election Commission of India has undertaken a major campaign through SIR to create a transparent and fair voter list. The way the fair voter list was prepared in Bihar. Many people who were infiltrators disappeared from there. Not a single objection was recorded. The Election Commission of India has taken a highly commendable step."
