Tumakuru, Oct. 2 -- Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Thursday informed that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is recovering well and his health is currently in good condition.

Kharge, 83, recently underwent pacemaker implantation and has been reported as stable. He is expected to resume his official engagements from October 3, according to his son and Karnataka IT Minister, Priyank Kharge.

Speaking to reporters, Karnataka Minister Parameshwara said, "Our leader and President of the All India Congress Committee, Mallikarjun Kharge, experienced respiratory issues and breathing problems. The day before yesterday, he was taken to Ramaya Hospital. I just met him this morning. He is in good condition."
