New Delhi, March 18 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday stated that the Maha Kumbh, which concluded in Prayagraj last month, was an "occasion" of devotion where people from every village in India participated.

Speaking to ANI, Bommai also slammed Rahul Gandhi over his 'complaint' that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his speech in Lok Sabha, did not pay homage to those who lost their lives in the Maha Kumbh stampede. Bommai accused the Congress MP of 'diluting' the statement made by PM Modi.
