Hyderabad, May 21 -- Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday stated that the Congress party was elected to power on the promise of exposing corruption that occurred during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi's (BRS) tenure after summons were issued by the PC Gosh Commission to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and others.

The summons were related to alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) during the BRS' 10-year rule in Telangana.

Speaking to ANI, Goud said, "People voted us (Congress) to power because we promised that the loot and corruption that happened in 10 years of BRS tenure would be exposed."
