Thiruvananthapuram, March 20 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday lauded the passing of the Kerala State Senior Citizens Commission Bill in the state Legislative Assembly, calling it a "pioneer in social welfare."
He emphasized that Kerala has become the first state in India to pass such a law, establishing a dedicated commission for elderly welfare.
"Kerala becomes the first state in the country to pass a law establishing a Commission for the Elderly, ensuring the rights, welfare, and rehabilitation of the elderly," the CM wrote in a post on X.
