Bengaluru, April 10 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has announced a protest under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on April 17 against the central government.

The protest, titled 'Jan Akrosh,' will focus on the rising prices of essentials, which Shivakumar attributes to the central government's policies.

"We are doing a protest against the central government. Jan Akrosh is against the government, which is responsible for increasing all the prices, including the essentials," Shivakumar said.

He stressed that the protest was not only about the hike in petrol and diesel prices but also the overall increase in prices of essential commodities.
