New Delhi, March 25 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday that the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, will increase the capacity, intensity, efficiency and accuracy of the country in disaster response.

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the discussion on the Bill, Shah said that the Disaster Management Act was brought for the first time in the year 2005, and under this NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority), SDMA (State Disaster Management Authority) and DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority) were formed.
