Bengaluru, Feb. 9 -- Ed Sheeran broke his silence hours after his street performance was stopped by the Bengaluru police, sharing that he had prior permission to perform at Church Street.

The British singer, on Sunday, took to his Instagram story to share a short statement where he wrote that they had "permission to busk" and that it was not just him "randomly turning up."

"We had permission to busk, by the way. Hence, us playing in that exact spot was planned out beforehand. It wasn't just us randomly turning up. All good though. See you at the show tonight x," Sheeran wrote.
