Bangalore, Oct. 8 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar on Wednesday condemned the alleged attempt to attack Chief Justice of India (CJI) B R Gavai inside the Supreme Court, calling the action wrong and added that strict action should be taken.

While interacting with the media, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar commented on the alleged attempt to attack CJI and said, "It is highly condemnable. He is the CJI. Although the CJI has stated that no action will be taken, strict action must still be taken. It is wrong. They must take suo moto action."

Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also condemned the attempted attack on CJI Gavai by an advocate.
