New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday extended greetings on Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti.

In a post on X, the Congress MP emphasised that Maharshi Valmiki inspired humanity to adopt the path of truth and righteousness.

"Heartfelt greetings to all on the birth anniversary of Ramayana's creator, the Adi Kavi Maharishi Valmiki Ji. Through his life philosophy, he inspired humanity to walk the path of truth, justice, love, and righteousness," Gandhi wrote.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished on Maharshi Valmiki's birth anniversary and mentioned that his pure ideas and thoughts have a profound impact on societies and families.
