New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- Railway authorities have appointed a high-level committee to investigate the stampede that took place at New Delhi Railway Station on February 15, a police officer said. The officer also emphasised that the inquiry into the tragic incident, which resulted in 18 deaths and numerous injuries, has already begun.
In response to the disaster, Indian Railways has begun operating special trains for pilgrims travelling to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh.
