New Delhi, Dec. 6 -- BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir after he laid the foundation stone for Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, alleging that West Bengal's ruling establishment was encouraging religious polarisation for political gain.

Chugh invoked historical and religious sentiment, asserting that India would "never accept any monument in the name of Babur."

He said, "The same Babur who came to India aiming to wipe out the country's culture was condemned by Guru Nanak Sahib as a tyrant. He turned the Ganga, Yamuna and Saryu rivers red with Hindu blood. India will never accept any monument or object in his name."
