New Delhi, May 6 -- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday called the newly concluded Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and United Kingdom as a "big step" for their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

He emphasised that the agreement promises to bring benefits to both nations' economies.

Sharing a post on X, Jaishankar wrote, "A big step for the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It promises significant benefit to both economies."

India and the United Kingdom on Tuesday successfully concluded a landmark FTA, along with a Double Taxation Avoidance Convention.
