Mumbai, July 29 -- Maharashtra Samajwadi President Abu Asim Azmi on Tuesday said that it would be great if the three terrorists killed in the Operation Mahadev were the same people who were involved in the Pahalgam attack that left 26 civilians dead.

"The government wants to be praised. If they were the same people and they were killed, that's great," Azmi told ANI.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced in the Lok Sabha that three Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack were killed by security forces during the recent Operation Mahadev in Jammu and Kashmir.

Azmi, however, questioned the government on "security lapse" causing the Pahalgam attack.
