New Delhi, April 3 -- After the Lok Sabha adopted a statutory resolution confirming the imposition of President's Rule in Manipur, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday hoped that peace and normalcy will be restored in the state.

"The Manipur discussion was essentially to approve the proclamation of the President's rule and that happened peacefully without any fundamental disagreement...Let us hope that peace and normalcy will be restored," Tharoor said.

Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said, "There was a lengthy discussion on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and parties of the INDIA bloc wanted a discussion on the Manipur issue in the morning...But the government wanted to run away in the dark and all parties walked out of the session." ...
