Haridwar, May 3 -- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday lauded Union Cabinet's decision conduct caste census, calling it a "historic decision" under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"It (Caste Census) is an historic decision taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji," Dhami said.

The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to include caste enumeration in the upcoming census.

CM Dhami further talked about implementation of Uniform Civil Code implemented in the state and said we have fulfilled our promise.
