Hyderabad, May 28 -- The Hyderabad City Police has hailed the honesty of an auto driver who found a handbag with over Rs 2 lakh cash in his auto, which belonged to a passenger, and assisted the authorities in tracing the owner to return the money.
Terming it a heart-warming act of honesty, Hyderabad Police said that P Mahender of Vikarabad district visited a shopping mall in Trimulgherry on May 26. He travelled by auto from Madina.
The police said that the passenger accidentally left behind his handbag in the auto -- containing Rs 2,08,000 in cash.
"The honest auto driver promptly reached Trimulgherry Police Station, assisted in tracing the owner, and returned the bag with the entire amount," Hyderabad Police said in a post on X.
