Chennai, Sept. 10 -- Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder-president Thol Thirumavalavan on Wednesday congratulated NDA nominee C P Radhakrishnan on being elected Vice President of India, while stressing that the INDIA bloc had demonstrated unity during the election.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Thirumavalavan said, "C P Radhakrishnan from Tamil Nadu has been elected as the Vice President of India. From the moment his candidacy was announced, it was clear he would win. However, MPs of the INDI alliance voted unitedly for Sudershan Reddy. Out of 752 votes, he secured 300. This election has proven that the INDI alliance stands strong and united."
