New Delhi, Feb. 17 -- Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, Rajkumar Sharma, the childhood coach of Virat Kohli, has expressed optimism that the star batter will overcome a string of poor scores and perform like a "champion player" he has been for the country over the years.

Rajkumar spoke to ANI on the sidelines of The Restaurant Cricket League (RCL), which is supported by Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism.

"Just because some matches went bad, does not mean the player is out-of-touch. When you look at his previous records, you will see what he did for the country. I believe that he will be performing like the champion player he always has been," Rajkumar said.
