Hyderabad, July 4 -- Former India cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin lauded Test captain Shubman Gill and called him a "future star" following his marvellous innings on the second day of the Birmingham Test at Edgbaston.
Gill produced a knock for ages, breaking several records with a 387-ball 269 on day two at Birmingham on Thursday.
Speaking about Shubman Gill's knock, Azharuddin told ANI, "I think he batted really well. He is one of the finest players. He is already a future star. I think he will achieve a lot in the future. I wish him all the best, and I hope that he continues to play like this and make the country proud."
