Kanpur, Nov. 29 -- Veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal, a three-time MP from Kanpur and one of the party's most prominent organisational figures in Uttar Pradesh, passed away at the age of 81 on Friday late evening, prompting an outpouring of grief from party colleagues and local leaders who hailed his lifelong commitment to grassroots politics and state development.

Speaking to ANI, Pramod Jaiswal, the younger brother of the late Jaiswal, expressed profound grief, saying, "All I can say at this time is that a hardworking man attached to the grassroots is lying silent today. I can't say anything more than that."
